INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — VeroNews.com placed calls to numerous hardware, grocery and marine retailers on Saturday and the consensus was that local residents are not yet buying hurricane supplies.

Please let us know how seriously you are taking the recent tropical activity and what, if anything you are doing to prepare. 

 

If you are in a wait-and-see mode, when and under what conditions would you begin to make preparations?

Did you have experiences in 2004 with Frances and Jeanne or in 2005 with Wilma that make you more vigilant about storms today? Or were you flooded out by Fay last year and now you take even tropical storms very seriously?

What are your plans if tropical storm Bill, predicted to become a Category 3 hurricane by Friday, threatens Indian River County?

Is this your first hurricane season in Florida? If so, how are you dealing with the prospect of experiencing a storm of some kind this year?
