Sebastian Knights and Ladies feed Florida Lions Campers a Medieval Feast

SEBASTIAN — On Thursday, Aug. 13, the adult handicapped campers at the Florida Lions Camp near Lake Wales were treated to a medieval style dinner geared to the camp’s medieval theme for the week.Lion Ladies Suzanne Masino, and Dee Smith, together with Lion Knights Jim Finochi and Jerry Kennerk, with the help of Suzanne’’s husband, Lord Fred, prepared and served a finger food meal for the nearly 90 campers. The campers enjoyed chicken broth, chicken fingers, potato fries, and a small ear of corn. The Lions and several helpers from the camp wore medieval style tunics that were made by Lions Suzanne and Dee.

Camp Director Robert Cage, along with the camp’s counselors, expressed their appreciation and delight at having this meal prepared and served by the members of the Sebastian Lions Club. All of the campers enjoyed this unusual meal at their last dinner for the week at the camp.
