He attended Charles Wright Academy where he excelled academically and athletically and was Co-Captain of the Varsity Football team, and a graduation speaker. He was valued by his classmates for his original sense of humor and kindness to all.

Keaton moved to Florida when his paternal grandfather became ill and ended up caring for him and his grandmother for a few years, making Florida his home. His mother joined him and made Florida her home as well.
He was an inspired and original musician, excelling in acoustic guitar and vocals. He maintained a strong interest in and deep knowledge of computer science.
