Roxane S. Zilenziger, of Vero Beach, died on Sept. 14, 2010.
She is a former resident of Scarsdale, N.Y., and was born Roxane Knowlton Shugart on Oct. 3, 1931, in Charles Town, W. Va. She is a graduate of Northfield School for Girls and Ma and Hood College, Frederick, Md.
Zilenziger was employed for a number of years at John Hopkins Hospital Biochemistry Laboratory. Married to Rodman J. Zilenziger 53 years (married: Oct, 6, 1956), held memberships in The Fox Meadow Tennis Club of Scarsdale, The Moorings Club of Vero Beach; The Scarsdale Woman’s Club; The Shenorock Shore Club of Rye, N.Y., The Junior League of Central Westchester and Indian River County; The National Society of Colonial Dames in the State of New York, and a courtesy member of the society in the state of Florida.
She took huge pleasure in her family, her friends and her many pastimes: tennis, paddle tennis, golf, bridge, reading, theatre trips, travel and her church, Hitchcock Presbyterian in Scarsdale, NY.
Her survivors include her husband, Rod; and children, Gaye (Scott) Geiger, of New Canaan, Conn., Susan (Rich) Maier, of HoHoKus, N.J., and Rod (Jennifer) Zilenziger Jr., also of HoHoKus; and 11 grandchildren, Daniel, Sarah, Caitlin, Taylor, Rodman, Lindsay, Kevin, James, Claire, Katherine, and Anna.
A memorial service will be held at Hitchcock Presbyterian Church, 6 Greenacres Ave., Scarsdale, N.Y. on Friday, Sept. 17, at 10 a.m., followed by a repast at: Shenorock Shore Club, 475 Stuyvesant Ave., Rye, NY 10580.
