INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Jacqueline “Jackie” Rosario, the two-term school board incumbent representing District 2, won Tuesday’s primary in a tight race against newcomer Tom Lange.
Rosario led with 51.85 percent in votes over Lange, who garnered 48.15 percent. School board races are non-partisan and held during the August primaries.
Rosario previously won the 2018 and 2022 primaries. Her stated priorities include what she terms as common sense governance, limited government, local control, freedom of school choice, fiscal responsibility, and equal opportunities for all students to receive a high-quality education.
The incumbent has a number of degrees including a doctorate of philosophy in educational law. Rosario, a former teacher and school administrator, has more than three decades of educational experience.
