Florida Department of Health officials announced five new positive coronavirus cases in Indian River County Sunday. Even though five new cases were shown, the state tally reflects an increase by four, totaling to 130.

Health department officials were not immediately available to clarify the discrepancy of the additional case. The death toll in Indian River County remained at 10.

The five new Indian River County cases are:

A 23-year-old man with no travel history and no known contact with an infected person
A 41-year-old woman with no travel history and no known contact with an infected person
A 77-year-old woman with no travel history and no known contact with an infected person
An 82-year-old man with no travel history and unknown contact with an infected person
An 81-year-old man with unknown travel history

Health department officials released the names of long-term care facilities that have or previously had COVID-19 cases. Five facilities in Indian River County – HarborChase of Vero Beach, Palm Garden of Vero Beach, Sonata of Vero Beach, Renaissance Senior Living and Isles of Vero Beach – reported coronavirus cases among residents and staff.

HarborChase reported at least 10 coronavirus cases, including five deaths among residents, health officers said. Palm Garden reported two cases, Sonata reported five cases, while Renaissance and Isles of Vero Beach reported one case each.

Health department officials previously said a total of 29 residents and three non-residents in the county had been hospitalized after falling ill from the virus. The number of county cases and hospitalizations are both cumulative and do not represent the current number of positive cases being tracked or the current number of people in the hospital.

Authorities said three people remain in the hospital. Details on total county virus testing numbers, percentage of positive tests and race and ethnicity of those testing positive were not immediately available because of an apparent glitch on the health department’s dashboard Sunday.

Statewide, there were 739 new cases, raising the total number of positive coronavirus cases to 56,163 Sunday. Health officials announced four additional deaths, bringing the statewide death toll to 2,451.

Florida Department of Health officials announced one new positive coronavirus case in Indian River County Monday morning. This raises the total amount of cases in the county to 98, while the death toll remained at eight.

The new Indian River County case is:

An 82-year-old man with no travel history, but who had known contact with an infected person

Florida Department of Health officials announced four new positive coronavirus cases in Indian River County Sunday morning. This raises the total amount of cases in the county to 97, while the death toll remained at eight.

The new Indian River County cases are:

A 35-year-old woman with no travel history who had unknown contact with an infected person
A 48-year-old woman with unknown travel history
A 34-year-old woman with no travel history and no known contact with an infected person
A 54-year-old woman with no travel history and no known contact with an infected person

Saturday, the health department reported 92 cases in Indian River County. With Sunday’s announcement of 97 cases, which would add five new cases instead of four, it was not clear if one case was left out; health department officials were not immediately available to clarify the numbers.

The new death is a 76-year-old woman with no travel history, but who had contact with an infected person, health officials said. The new positive case is a 25-year-old man with unknown travel history.
