Liam Joseph O’Hagan, 28, Vero Beach

May 29, 1995 – October 19, 2023

It is with heavy hearts, deep devastation, and tremendous loss our family is mourning the loss of Liam Joseph O’Hagan, 28 of Vero Beach, FL on October 19, 2023. He was born in Rockville Centre, NY on May 29, 1995. He was a solid family member, the Switzerland of our kin, Beloved son to Kristine Klose-O’Hagan and Patrick O’Hagan (Tara), Loyal Brother to Ryan (Jessica) and Sister Aerobella, Darling Grandson to Anna Klose of Vero Beach, FL and Elenor O’Hagan of Ballymena, Northern Ireland, Uncle Winnie to Lindsey and Luke. Wonderful nephew and loving cousin. Buddy to many near and far. He is now reunited with his Grandpa Kenneth.

Liam Graduated from Vero Beach High School and chose the Restaurant Industry as his career path.

Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be hosted by The O’Hagan Family at Pointe West Country Club, Vero Beach, FL 32966 on Saturday October 28th from 5pm to 9 pm. All are welcome to attend. Proper Country Club attire. (cash bar).

Roy Boyd, 82, Vero Beach

February 8, 1941 – October 21, 2023

Roy “Jim” Boyd entered into eternal rest on Saturday, October 21, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born to the late Mary Deel and Alonzo “Lonzie” Boyd on February 8, 1941 in Grundy, Virginia. He was raised in the Virginia mountains with his four siblings, Junior, Otis, Carvel, and Alice Faye. He joined the Army in 1961. After serving in the military, he moved to Washington, DC, where he met his wife of 52 years, Ann Yankowski Boyd. They met on a dance floor and have been dancing ever since.

They married in 1970 and moved to Florida before relocating to Aiken, South Carolina where he worked at the Savannah River Site.  He worked as an operating engineer and was a proud member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 675 in Florida and Local 470 in South Carolina. He retired from Savannah River Site in 2001.

He and Ann moved to Vero Beach in 2016 where he attended Grace Baptist Church. He loved reading, golfing, hunting, and spending time with his family most of all. He loved music and enjoyed traveling and attending bluegrass festivals with his family after retirement. He always had a joke to tell and always had a smile on his face. He was patient and kind and extremely proud of his family.

He was the best husband, father, and grandfather anyone could have asked for.

He is survived by his wife Ann Boyd, of Vero Beach; his brother, Carvel Boyd, of Delaware; and his two children Jim Boyd, of Williamsburg, NC; and Cheryl (Adam) Nasse, of Charleston, SC. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Rebecca, Russell, Sam, and Addison; and five great grandchildren Aubrey, Carson, Paisley, Serenity, and Ava.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30am on Friday, October 27, 2023 at Cox-Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home, 1950 20th Street Vero Beach, FL 32960.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations in Jim’s name be made to Grace Baptist Church,1285 43rd Ave, Vero Beach, FL 32960 or The American Heart Association, P.O Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692.

Interment will be held at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery.

Michael William Caron, 69, Vero Beach

January 30, 1954 – October 30, 2023

Michael William Caron, 69, of Vero Beach, passed away on October 30, 2023, at his home. He was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts, to the late George H. Caron and Alfreda Savoie Caron. Michael was married to his high school sweetheart, Anne Goss Caron, for 40 loving years.

Michael’s life was filled with remarkable achievements and a deep love for his family. He graduated from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy and distinguished himself by achieving a perfect score on his Coast Guard exam. At the remarkable age of 29, he became the youngest oil tanker captain at Sun Oil, where he dedicated his professional career until his retirement.

Aside from his impressive professional accomplishments, Michael had a passion for sports and the outdoors. He played ice hockey during his high school and college years and was known for his competitive spirit and dedication to the game. An avid fisherman, he found solace and joy in spending time by the water, pursuing his favorite pastime.

In 1978, Michael and his family made the life-changing decision to relocate to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, from their Massachusetts home and in 1986 made the move to Vero Beach. This move allowed them to embrace the beautiful Florida lifestyle, and they became active members of the Vero Beach community.

Michael is survived by his loving wife, Anne Caron; his devoted sons, Victor Caron of Kilkenny, Ireland, and William Caron of Media, Pennsylvania; his dear sister, Laudia Belmonte Caron of Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts; and his cherished grandchildren, Anthony Caron of Mashpee, Massachusetts, and Penelope Faith Caron of Media, Pennsylvania.

A prayer service in memory of Michael Caron will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at 4 p.m. at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home. Following the service, the family will greet friends at the funeral home to celebrate and remember the life of this extraordinary man.

Michael will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his legacy of hard work, dedication, and love for his family will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of being part of his life.
