Mr. Carl John Fritz Jr., 87, died September 18, 2023, at VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach, Florida.
He was born in New York, New York and moved to Sebastian, Florida to enjoy sunny days and a wonderful retirement.
Carl was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force where he received the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal.
Carl began his employment with Southern Bell Telephone, he enjoyed many years with the phone company even through the company’s transition to Bellsouth and AT& T telephone.
He was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Sebastian, Florida.
Survivors include his daughter, Lisa Agatha Dunker of Norfolk, Virginia; son Carl John Fritz III of Sebastian, FL and stepdaughters, Cheryl Lynn Varney of Edgewater, FL and Kimberly Rene Varney of West Palm Beach, FL. He is dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate the fact that he is at peace with his creator.
Many hugs and kisses to the “Best Dad” ever you will be missed! Glad you made one last trip to your happy place at Beau Rivage to try your luck (4 leaf clover).

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM on Wednesday September 27, 2023, St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Florida with Father Antony Pulikal, celebrant. A committal service will immediately follow the Mass at Sebastian Cemetery, Sebastian, Florida.

Eugene Thomas Dalton, 96, Vero Beach
November 25, 1926 – September 16, 2023
It is with great sadness that the family of Eugene Thomas Dalton announce his peaceful passing on Saturday, September 16, 2023, following a short period of failing health at VNA Hospice House, Vero Beach, Florida. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on November 25, 1926, he was the son of the late Harold Joseph Dalton and Ida Elizabeth (Grattan).
Gene graduated from Harkins Academy High School, Newcastle, NB and immediately enlisted in the US army. He was stationed in Los Alamos, New Mexico where he was part of the Armed Forces Special Weapons Project. He was very proud of his service. Following his honorable discharge from the army he returned to Boston where he met and married Angelina Marino. In the early years Gene and Angie would spend their winters skiing in Alton NH and summers at their cottage in Seabrook NH but eventually gave up the skiing for warmer winters in Barefoot Bay Fl.
In his retirement Gene moved to Barefoot Bay permanently where he enjoyed golfing, bocce, cards, singing in the St Lukes choir and spending time with his family and friends.
Gene is survived by his brother-in-law Robert Stephen, sister-in-law Rose (Marino) DeLucca and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife Angelina (Marino), sister Margaret Stephen, brothers Harold, Richard and Carl, parent’s in-law Vincent and Mary (DeRocco) Marino, sister-in-law Lillian (Brander) Dalton sister-in-law Gloria (Marino) Guerra, brothers in law Ralph F. Guerra Jr and Arthur DeLucca.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 30, 2023, at St. Luke Catholic Church, Micco, Florida with Father Tony Welle, celebrant.

Lawrence “Larry” Henry Peters Jr., 70, Sebastian
January 30, 1953 – September 21, 2023
Mr. Lawrence “Larry” Henry Peters Jr., 70, died September 21, 2023, at Melbourne Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, FL.
Larry owned and operated, alongside his wife, Debbie, Roadside Restaurant in Sebastian for 10 years, Larry’s Roadside in Vero Beach for 10 years, and recently Riverwalk Café in Sebastian. Larry loved being a chef, he was inspired at a very young age having worked alongside his parents who owned a Dairy Farm.
Survivors include wife of 25 years, Debbie Peters; daughters Kristy Droska (Greg) and Kelly Vangelov (John); sister, Lynn Peters-Porchia (Don); stepdaughters Brittany Duhrkoff and Jaime Duhrkoff; stepson, Matt Duhrkoff and 9 Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Helen Peters, brother Paul Peters and granddaughter Brooke Droska.
A Celebration of Larry’s life will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Strunk Funeral Home, 1623 North Central Avenue, Sebastian, FL 32958.

Walter Beringer Jr. (Walt), 86, Vero Beach
March 7, 1937 – October 1, 2023
Walter Beringer Jr. (Walt), age 86, of Vero Beach, FL, passed away on October 1, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on March 7, 1937, to his parents, Walter Beringer and Elizabeth Beringer. Walt’s life was a testament to his love for family, his passion for the finer things in life, and his dedication to his career in the electronics industry.
Walt was born in New York and was raised in Deptford, NJ. He attended the Valley Forge Military Academy and then went on to the University of Maryland. Walt loved the Eastern Shore of Maryland and spent most weekends growing up and then later with his own family boating on the Sassafras River and the Chesapeake Bay. Throughout his life, he cherished many passions, including his love for family, dogs, cars, boating, and savoring delectable meals at restaurants. In his younger years, he embraced the thrill of water and snow skiing with his family.
Professionally, Walt carved a remarkable path in the electronics industry, where he earned a reputation as a pioneer, admired leader and a master builder of lasting relationships. His colleagues and peers revered him for his dedication, work ethic, and his ability to foster connections that transcended the workplace.
Walt’s passing leaves a void that can never be filled, but his memory lives on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. He is reunited in eternity with his father, Walter Beringer, his mother, Elizabeth Beringer, his brother, Barry Beringer, stepson David Hetrick, and grandson Trevor Beringer.
He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Beringer, along with his three children, Walt Beringer III (Daphne), Craig Beringer (Lisa) and Kimberly Ball (Mike) and his beloved pup Katie. His legacy continues through his seven grandchildren, Taryn Ericsen-Kidder (Jon), Amber McCormick, Brandon Beringer, Gregory Beringer (Claire), Brooklyn Hetrick, Cole Hetrick and Francis Creagh, as well as his five great-grandchildren, Kailyn, Landon, Maura, Ronin and Leo who will grow up hearing stories of his adventures and wisdom.
Walt will forever be remembered for his zest for life, his dedication to family, and his enduring impact on the electronics industry. He leaves behind a rich tapestry of memories that will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A celebration of Walt’s life will be held on October 9, 2023, at 11:30am, at Living Lord Lutheran Church, 2725 58th Ave, Vero Beach, FL 32966. Friends and family are invited to come together to honor and remember a life well-lived. Visitation with the family will begin at 10am.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved son, father, husband, brother, uncle and friend Joseph Harold Bishop (Joey) 54, of Vero Beach, Florida.
We lost Joey on October 4, 2023. His love and kindness leave many left with a giant hole in their hearts. Joey moved to Vero Beach when he was 8 years old and this has always been his home.
He loved Vero Beach and had many tales to tell from his days as a child at Beachland Elementary; working and hanging out at Sun Spot, skateboarding and fishing at Riverside and Memorial Island, being a ‘wombat’ at Charlie Browns, bartender at Riverside Cafe, owning Brain Freeze, and his almost 20 years at Bobby’s Restaurant where he was a friend/coworker to many residents of Vero Beach.
Joey created a loving family with his wife of 25 years, Lisa. They raised their 2 boys, Michael and Marc in Vero. He was one of the hardest working men you would ever meet. He did this so his family had everything they needed and wanted. On his off time he loved traveling with his family, often bringing his niece and nephews and the boy’s friends. He loved playing games, going out to eat, and hanging with his pets: Bailey, Stella, and Sox.
His sense of humor, teasing, joking and starting trouble with family and friends made it such a joy to be around him. Strangers became friends and friends became family. Joey loved to have a nickname for everyone. It could be a family member, friend, or customer at Bobby’s. You knew he liked you when you elevated to a nickname. It was his big heart that made you feel happy and safe in his presence. His smile radiated throughout a room.
Joey was the epitome of a hard-working family man. He touched so many lives. He was a friend to many. He has left a void in so many lives. Joey will be missed greatly.
Joseph Harold Bishop was preceded in death by his father Harold J. Bishop and godson Brooks H. Maxwell.
He is survived by his wife Lisa Aversa Bishop; sons Michael and Marc Bishop; mother, Mary Ann Bishop; sister, Dawn Maxwell, brother, David Bishop, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, in-laws, nephews, and nieces.
Joey, through his natural kind-hearted nature, has blessed many others with life, sight, and continued memories and happiness for others through his selfless gift of organ donation.
Visitation will be 12:00pm-2:00pm, Tuesday October 10, 2023 at Strunk Funeral Home Vero Beach.
A prayer service for Joey will begin promptly at 2pm and interment will follow at Crestlawn Cemetery.
Friends may gather and share memories at the Moose Lodge beginning at 4pm.
