Rossway Swan law firm hosts “Soup Bowl” lunch Dec. 3

VERO BEACH — The Law Firm of Rossway Swan Tierney Barry Lacey & Oliver launch the holiday season of giving on Thursday, Dec. 3 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. as they host their annual “Soup Bowl.” The event will be held in their suite of offices located in the Modern One Building, 2101 Indian River Boulevard, Suite 200 in Vero Beach.

The “Soup Bowl,” which benefits the Samaritan Center for Homeless Families, is a 23-year tradition for the Center, and for Rossway Swan, it marks the seventh year they have hosted the event.

The “Soup Bowl” embodies the spirit of giving as individuals forego the lunchtime meal they might normally enjoy and instead partake of a hearty meal of soup and bread for a donation to the Samaritan Center. The interfaith non-profit organization offers long-term transitional housing and guidance for homeless families of Indian River County and prepares them to live independently.

Rossway Swan welcomes the community for a delicious array of soups all homemade by employees of the firm and volunteers from the local community. Finger sandwiches, drinks and assorted breads accompany the soup meal. There will also be a selection of handmade pottery bowls made by local artists available for sale.

While continuing to reach out to the community during the holiday season, Rossway Swan also traditionally decorates a “Giving Tree” to benefit a local charity. This year, the “Giving Tree” beneficiary will be the Youth Guidance Mentoring and Activities program in Indian River County. Started in 1973, Youth Guidance has been serving at risk youth from low income, single parent families for 42 years. Youth Guidance is dedicated to enriching the lives of Indian River County youth through mentoring relationships that inspire trust, self-esteem and positive futures.

In addition, Rossway Swan will once again support the Sebastian River High School Choir’s fundraiser by purchasing poinsettia plants from the choir to decorate their offices for the “Soup Bowl” and throughout the season.
