Fred Taylor, 91, of Vero Beach, passed away on May 30, 2014.
He is survived his wife Beverly; sons James S. Taylor and John “Jeb” Taylor; daughter Susan Sawtelle; stepsons Bradley Swartz and Christopher Frew; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and six step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Louise Taylor.
Taylor was born in New York City and moved to Vero Beach in the early 1980s from Santa Barbara, Calif.
He graduated from Stauton Military Academy before serving in the US Marine Corps during World War II. After his release from duty, he attended and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachlor of Science in Economics and the Wharton School of Business.
He began his financial career with Kidder-Peabody in Illinois before forming his own financial consulting firm in Santa Barbara, Calif.
Taylor was a member of the Orchid Island Golf and Beach Club and the Vero Beach Bridge Center. He went on to became a Life Master of Bridge. Throughout his life he enjoyed many activities including golf, tennis, hiking and canoeing as well as friends and family.

The family will receive friends at the Orchid Island Beach Clubhouse from 3 to 5 p.m., Sunday, June 8. Arrangements are by Strunk Funeral Home and Crematory, Vero Beach. A guest book is available at www.strunkfuneralhome.com.
