INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office Multi-Agency Criminal Enforcement shut down a meth lab Tuesday in south county, according to authorities.
The MACE Unit executed a search warrant yesterday in the 400 block of 7th Place, according to the Sheriff’s Office. During the search, detectives discovered an active methamphetamine laboratory.
Agents from the Drug Enforcement Administration responded and assisted with the cleanup.
Detectives seized an undetermined amount of methamphetamine oil, along with methamphetamine lab equipment including muriatic acid, Drano, acetone, household lye, pseudo ephedrine caplet, fuel, and measuring cups, according to authorities.
Jerry Shelley, 32, Mark Bohannon, 39, and Stefani Buzzell, 35, all of Vero Beach, were arrested and charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Shelley was also charged with possession of methamphetamine, while Bohannon faces additional charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and an outstanding warrant for petit theft.
“Anytime we encounter methamphetamine labs, we are always worried about the safety of our men and women,” Sheriff Deryl Loar said. “Fortunately, with the help of the DEA, we were able to safely rid our community of this hazardous setup.”
