Presbyterian Women enjoyed a Mother’s Day Breakfast

VERO BEACH – The Saturday before Mother’s Day, 52 Presbyterian Women (PW) gathered to enjoy a breakfast buffet and good fellowship at the special Mother’s Day Breakfast and Birthday Offering at the First Presbyterian Church on Royal Palm Boulevard in Vero Beach. Theresa Garbarino-May, Executive Director of CASTLE, was the featured speaker.

The three beneficiaries of this year’s church-wide offering, which celebrates the blessings in the lives of Presbyterian Women, are Bring Peace Now in South Sudan, the Menaul School in Albuquerque, and the Women and Children Succeeding (WACS) Program of the Anderson Interfaith Ministries in South Carolina.

CASTLE was the first child abuse prevention center in the country and is one of six in Florida. It serves as the model for a national network of 107 such centers in 27 states. Garbarino-May discussed the services that CASTLE provides for families throughout the Treasure Coast. It currently serves more than 600 families this year in Indian River County alone out of its new Vero Beach offices at 148 Vista Royale Square.

Presbyterian Women (PW) is an independent, self-sufficient organization within the Church.
