Online marketing firm Social Kaboom adopts H.A.L.O Rescue.

VERO BEACH — All philanthropists know, charity begins at home – and the Vero Beach based online marketing firm Social Kaboom has taken that philosophy to heart.  The company has adopted H.A.L.O. Rescue and has created a new state of the art, user friendly and informative website for the local charitable organization. Social Kaboom will also design and implement new innovative social media initiatives and strategies to propel future growth and continued success of H.A.L.O Rescue, the only no-kill animal shelter in Indian River County.

The new site www.halorescuefl.org, will assist H.A.L.O. Rescue on promoting animal welfare and adoptions, provide information on upcoming fund raising events and give useful links for pet health care and low cost spay neuter organizations.

Low beach attendance for January; no water rescues

VERO BEACH — While chilly temperatures caused a drop in beach attendance last month, lifeguards are happy to report that there were no water rescues that occurred in January. "It's a great thing," Vero Beach Lifeguard Association officials said in a statement. "We hope people are paying attention to lifeguards and condition signs before they go into the water." The Vero Beach Lifeguard Association recently released its monthly report for the beaches at Jaycee Park, Humiston Park and South Beach Park.
