James G. Brown, 61, died Dec. 20, 2010, at Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach.
He was born in Milan, Tenn., and lived in Vero Beach since 2009, coming from Haslett, Mich.
Before retirement, he worked as a manager for a General Motors subcontractor.
He was a member of the Power Squadron. He volunteered at Indian River Medical Center and was a member of St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Hamel; son, Nicholas Brown. of Port St. Lucie; daughter, Jamie Brown, of Lansing, Mich; brothers, John Brown, of Boulder, Colo., and Brad Brown, of Lansing; and five grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Martha.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Indian River Medical Center Auxiliary at 1000 36th St., Vero Beach, FL 32960.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Dec. 26 at Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Chapel, Vero Beach.
A Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Dec. 27 at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach.
