William V. Brady, 92, of Vero Beach, died Saturday Nov. 13, 2010, at Royal Palm Convalescent Center in Vero Beach.
Brady was born Sept. 29, 1918, in New York, N.Y., and moved to Vero Beach in 1986 from North Bergen, N.J. He had served as the town clerk and commissioner for the town of North Bergen and had been a realtor prior to his retirement.
He was a Purple Heart recipient and a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army under General Patton. Brady was a member of the VFW and the DAV.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Catherine; daughter, Linda (John) Pepe, of Oradell, N.J.; two grandchildren, Brian (Kelly) Pepe, of Hoboken, N.J., and Laura William Rupp of River Edge, N.J.; and a great-granddaughter, Margaret Pepe, of Hoboken, N.J.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, James, Charles, and Thomas Brady.
The family will receive friends at 8:30 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, at Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach followed by Mass at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach.
Interment will be in the Mausoleum at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Ft. Pierce with military honors by VFW Post 3918.
