VERO BEACH — On Wednesday, November 17 the Saint Edward’s Upper and Middle School Choirs will perform their Fall Concert in the Waxlax Center for the Performing Arts beginning at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free and the concert is open to the public.
Director of Choral Music, Daniel Koh, will be directing a program that includes a wide variety of musical selections, from classical selections to familiar folk songs, from Broadway musical favorites to lively arrangements of popular songs by such well-known artistes as Bon Jovi
and U2. The finale of the concert is an outstanding arrangement of the gospel tune “Lean On Me,” made popular recently by the cast of the TV show “Glee.” The program is sure to delight audiences of all ages.
The collaborative pianist for the evening will be Joanne Knott, and our resident percussionist will be Paul Colella, who is a member of the class of 2011. Other notable student soloists from the graduating senior class include sopranos Victoria Mangiapani and Elizabeth Sockol as well as altos Kate Weeks and Cory Deal.
Daniel Koh is widely noted as the Artistic Director of the Vero Beach Choral Society and the newly-formed Atlantic Chamber Singers. Mr. Koh received his Master of Music and Master of Musical Arts degrees in choral conducting from the Yale School of Music, where he is currently
pursuing his Doctor of Musical Arts. He has previously served as director of the Yale Glee Club Chamber Singers, the Yale Divinity School Chapel Choir, the Yale Repertory Chorus and the Yale Recital Chorus. He has also previously served as Director of Choral Activities at Gonzaga
