33 county water customers to be without water May 25

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — More than 30 county water utility customers will be without water for approximately five hours Tuesday, May 25, starting at about 8 a.m., water officials said.

The water outage is needed in the area of 19th Avenue and 3rd Street for crews to replace a water valve.

Upon restoration of water service, the Indian River County Utilities Department advises that all water used for the following be boiled (a rolling boil of one minute is sufficient):

Drinking

Cooking

Making ice

Brushing teeth

Hand washing dishes

Bottled water may be used as an alternative.

This boil water notice will remain in effect until a bacteriological survey shows that the water is safe to drink. The department is unable to provide an exact time of survey completion, though it should be no more than 72 hours.

A rescission notice will be distributed.
