TRAFFIC: 90th Ave. near SR 60 to close Wednesday

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A contractor will close 90th Avenue within 100 feet of State Road 60 on the north side, Wednesday, May 5, at 7 a.m. The road is scheduled to reopen Thursday, May 6, by 5 p.m.

The contractor is paving the roadway.

A detour route will be posted.

County announces beach closures ahead of beach restoration project

At least two beaches will be closed starting this weekend ahead of the beach restoration project, which will start back up next week, county officials said. The project aims to restore sand - which had been washed away by storms and hurricanes over the years - at the beaches. Beach park access at Seagrape Trail Beach Access and Treasure Shores Park Beach will both close starting Friday, county officials said. Contractor installing new asphalt on Indian River Blvd; delays expected

GIFFORD — Motorists can expect periodic delays from lane closures on Indian River Boulevard this week as a contractor works to install new asphalt on the roadway, sheriff's office officials said. The delays began Monday on Indian River Boulevard, between 37th and 41st streets, sheriff's officials said. The lanes on northbound and southbound Indian River Boulevard will continue to close sporadically until 4 p.m. Thursday.
