14 county water customers to be without water April 28

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Fourteen county water utility customers will be without water for approximately six hours Wednesday, April 28, starting at about 8 a.m., water officials said.

The water outage is needed along the 100 block of 43rd Avenue for crews to replace water lines in the area. Upon restoration of water service, the Indian River County Utilities Department advises that all water used for the following be boiled (a rolling boil of one minute is sufficient):

Drinking

Cooking

Making ice

Brushing teeth

Hand washing dishes

Bottled water may be used as an alternative.

This boil water notice will remain in effect until a bacteriological survey shows that the water is safe to drink. The department is unable to provide an exact time of survey completion, though it should be no more than 72 hours.

A rescission notice will be distributed.
