Woman accused of spending 90 minutes at Walmart shoplifting

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A Vero Beach woman was arrested, accused of shoplifting $270 worth of merchandise in an hour and a half at Walmart, stuffing the purloined items into her child’s diaper bag and her purse.

The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office arrested 23-year-old Tammy Lynn Fisler, of 18th Avenue SW, on Saturday, Dec. 12, after being called out to the Walmart on 20th Street. According to the arrest report, Fisler spent more than 1 1/2 hours inside the store, breaking open packages and removing tags, then concealing the items in the diaper bag and purse.

In all, Fisler is accused of trying to walk out of the store with 34 items, including a new pair of shoes for her 14-month-old child, the report states.

Fisler faces one misdemeanor charge of retail theft and has been released from the county jail on $500 bond.
