INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — “No kids” spray painted in yellow paint is the first thing a couple saw on their cars when they opened the curtains Thursday morning, according to the victim.
Their cars were vandalized in the Woodfield 55+ Community because they were babysitting their granddaughter, according to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office.
Both the victims’ cars had “no kids” spray painted in yellow over their cars multiple times, according to authorities. The vandalism happened Wednesday between 9:30 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. Thursday morning.
“I’m already in the fear, what comes next?” said one of the victims of the vandalism.
The Sheriff’s Office is investigating the vandalism.
The victims said they sometimes babysit their granddaughter and people think she lives at the location. There have been complaints filed with the home owners association.
“Who the hell could be doing it?” asked the victim.
The victim said some neighbors love their granddaughter, but there are some who have lodged complaints with the HOA.
The cars vandalized were a 2007 Toyota Camry and a 2004 Toyota Sienna. The estimated damage is unknown.
“To me, it looks like hatred,” said the victim.
