INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Town of Orchid and the City of Fellsmere will not have to pay taxes on pieces of property recently acquired for municipal purposes.
The Board of County Commissioners approved canceling taxes on the property the Town of Orchid is now using for its administrative offices, located at 7707 US 1, Suite 1, north of Vero Beach.
The commission also approved canceling taxes on 1049 Vernon St., in Fellsmere, which the city acquired through a water lien foreclosure. The city will be paying the back taxes owed on the site.
