SEBASTIAN — SunUp ARC and Special Scouts Troop 550 had the good fortune to participate in the annual Tootsie Roll Drive in Sebastian again this year.
Over the years, those red and yellow canisters have become very near and dear to them. In spite of the economy, over $3,300 was collected this year. Every penny definitely helps when it comes to fundraising.
SunUp ARC and Special Scouts would also like to thank Sebastian Wal-Mart and Sebastian Publix for granting the privilege of having the Tootsie Roll Drive at their establishments.
It would be a mistake to not acknowledge the most important contributor of all; the public. If one has no connection to developmentally disabled adults, one cannot possibly understand how important the Tootsie Roll Drive is.
Not only because of the much needed funds that are raised, but more importantly because this is a project with which the developmentally disabled can contribute. The warm and happy greetings received from the public are very heartwarming.
