VERO BEACH — Individual speaker tickets are currently on sale at the Emerson Center for the 2011 Celebrated Speakers Series, sponsored by Wilmington Trust. Tickets are available for the three remaining engaging and informative speakers in the series, at The Emerson Center at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Vero Beach. Performances are held at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Individual tickets are $65 each.
Next in the series are author and former national security advisor to the President of the United States, Zbigniew Brzezinski on February 26, Gwen Ifill, moderator and managing editor of Washington Week on March 19 and Paul Krugman, one of the world’s foremost economists, on April 9.
Zbigniew Brzezinski’s resume is lengthy and impressive with the most notable achievement of holding the post as National Security Adviser to the President Jimmy Carter from 1977 to 1981. In 1981, he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom “for his role in the normalization of U.S.- Chinese relations and for his contributions to the human rights and national security policies of the United States.”
Today he is Trustee and Counselor, Center for Strategic & International Studies; and Robert E. Osgood Professor of American Foreign Policy, the Paul Nitze School of Advanced International Studies, Johns Hopkins University, Washington, D.C. He is the author of many books including his latest published in 2008, America and the World: Conversation on the Future of American Foreign Policy.
