SEBASTIAN — The Kick-off Party for the 2011 Relay for Life of North Indian River County will be held on Tuesday, November 2 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Captain Hiram’s Resort in the Tiffany Room.
Relay for Life is the American Cancer Society’s signature activity – a one day, one night, one community event which offers everyone in the community an opportunity to participate in the fight against cancer.
Relay for Life is about celebration, remembrance, and hope. By participating, you honor cancer survivors, pay tribute to the lives we’ve lost to the disease, and raise money to help fight it all right here in your community.
Breaking from the traditional Friday night into Saturday morning concept, the North Indian River County Relay for Life is scheduled to begin at 12 noon on Saturday, April 30 and will end on Sunday, May 1 at 6 a.m. The Relay will be held at the Sebastian River High School and the theme is “Old MacDonald Had a Farm, Ee I Ee I No More Cancer.”
The Kick-Off Party is a great opportunity to learn more about Relay for Life and how to get involved. Anyone who is interested in putting a team together is encouraged to attend. There will be great food and prizes.
