Dr. Aris C. Lindsey, 91, died Aug. 24, 2010 at Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach.
He was born in Washington, Ga. and lived in Vero Beach for 56 years coming from Athens, Ga. Dr. Lindsey served in the U.S. Army during the World War II as an Army Ranger. He was a POW and received a Purple Heart.
He was this area’s first veterinarian and had earned his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia, Athens.
Survivors include his daughters, Karen Palmer of Greenville, N.C., Susan Beuttell, of Vero Beach, sisters, Ann Bennett of Augusta, Ga., Caroline Tidwell of Woodbury, Ga., four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son Robert Wallace Lindsey and his wife Rae Deacon Lindsey.
