Richard C. Rygiel, 69, died April 10, 2010, at his residence.
He was born in Jersey City, N.J., and lived in Vero Beach since 2008, coming from Cranford, N.J. He earned his bachelor’s degree from St. Peters College and his master’s degree from New York University.
He was a retired banker. He was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church, Vero Beach and St. Michaels Catholic Church in Cranford and the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Rygiel; daughter; Jennifer Grohol; and son; Steve, all of Vero Beach; sisters, Viola Suruda of Hackettstown, N.J.; Joanna Dzitko of Kinnelon, N.J.; Alice Farrell of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; Irene Ritzer of Warwick, N.J.; and Jean Gerbereux of Hackettstown, N.J.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Alexander Rygiel.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. April 13 at the Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home, Vero Beach. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. April 14 at St. Helen Catholic Church with burial to follow at Crestlawn Cemetery, Vero Beach.
