Nellie Ella Bergandi Howard, 86, died March 28, 2010, at her home.
She was born in Fort Pierce and lived in Vero Beach for 63 years, coming from her birth place. Before retirement, she was a kitchen manager at Riomar Country Club in Vero Beach for 15 years.
She was a member of First Baptist Church and Beta Sigma Phi sorority, both of Vero Beach.
Survivors include her daughters, Barbara Allen, Patsy Doutrich, Lynn Lilliquist, Sandy Fox and Mary Ann Zuefle, all of Vero Beach; son, Columbus C. Howard Jr., also of Vero Beach; sister, Elizabeth Cooper of Michigan; 34 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Columbus C. Howard Sr.; infant grandson, Columbus A. Howard; brothers, Charlton Anderson, Raymond Bergandi, Ernest Bergandi, Leland Bergandi and Oscar Bergandi; and sisters, Delithian Bailey, Martha Moody and Josephine Dillon.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. April 3 at First Baptist Church in Vero Beach.
