VERO BEACH — The biggest winners at Viva Las Vero IV Casino Night at the Elks Lodge were the children at Hibiscus Children’s Center. But whether guests were into gaming or just relaxing with friends, there was enough going on all through the night to keep everyone happy.
The folks who were at the top of their game went home with those all important bragging rights and converted their winnings into chances for a huge assortment of donated prizes. For others, there was plenty of entertainment and fun even if their chips were dwindling. With concentration and the luck of the draw, the more adventurous showed off their skills at the Texas Hold ’em and Blackjack Tournaments, while the other guests tried their luck at guiltless gambling from roulette to craps, all to help rebuild the lives of children in our community.
Guests were also treated to music throughout the night by Golden Oldies Dance Parties featuring Jerry, the Singing DJ and The Dolls. A buffet dinner, compliments of Pearl Restaurant was augmented by a taco bar from Catering by Adrienne Drew and a dessert bar from Publix and the Indian River Guild.
Founded in 1985, the Hibiscus Children’s Center provides services to prevent and reduce child abuse, neglect, and abandonment on the Treasure Coast through its residential care facilities, foster care licensing and training, community mental health services, and a state of the art child development center.{igallery 140}
