SEBASTIAN – The Miller family of Sebastian was enjoying a sunny, breezy day along the city’s riverfront during the annual Sebastian Riverfront Fine Art and Music Festival Saturday when a stranger approached.
The stranger, known only as Gene, said hello to parents Bill and Norma Miller and their triplet 16-year-old son, Kenny, who is physically and mentally challenged and attends Wabasso School. Kenny is the brother of Jessica and Austin. Kenny reached out to Gene when he told the teen hello, Norma said. That’s when Gene asked Kenny how he was enjoying the festival and if there were anything he wanted to buy.
“God bless him,” Norma said of Gene, who gave them $100 and told Norma to buy Kenny something special.
The Millers bought an artistic frame featuring a couple octopuses and a wall hanging with “Kenny” on it.
The family spent the better part of the rest of the day looking for Gene to thank him for his unexpected generosity, but to no avail.
“We want to give him a big thank you from the bottom of our hearts,” Norma said, tears welling in her eyes as she recounted meeting Gene.
