Gifford Youth Orchestra’s fundraiser Crystals on the Beach deemed a great success!

(Vero Beach, FL) The Gifford Youth Orchestra (GYO), established by Dr. Crystal Bujol, had its 18th Anniversary fundraiser, Crystals on the Beach, on Sunday, April 18, 2021 and was deemed a great success.

Unable to have an in-person fundraiser this year, the GYO presented a virtual fundraising event featuring historical anecdotes by Dr. Bujol, testimonials by parents and teachers, and a few musical selections by GYO students and alumni.

Mark Wygonik, Chairman of this affair said, “We are happy to report that this event raised over $25,000, which will be used as scholarships for the instruction in stringed instruments, piano, and vocal training for underserved children in the Gifford and Vero Beach area.  The more we raise, the more students we can serve, and that is our mission!”

Hundreds of people viewed this GYO Board Fundraiser live on YouTube with many also participating in the online auction.

People who donated $200 and above received a beautiful hand delivered charcuterie boxes packed with delectable and savory items, as well as a gift memento.

The charcuterie boxes were prepared by the Ladies of Sunrise Rotary.

Established in 2003 by Dr. Bujol at the prompting of Gifford resident Annie Powell, GYO’s mission is to provide education and training in various cultural and performing arts for the youth of Gifford and neighboring communities.

With a core focus on mastering stringed instruments, over 221 young people have had instruction opportunities in music, drama, and vocal arts.

Crystals on the Beach was proudly underwritten by New Vision Eye Center and was also sponsored by Carol Ludwig & Warren Obluck, Dr. Brain Wells, Roger T. Sobkowiak, Mark Wygonik, Jane Burton, and Marcus A. Rogers, Esq.
