Promoter Rusty Young of MusicWorks, Inc. proudly announces the inaugural concert of 15 in this year’s popular music series LIVE! From Vero Beach.
In its 7th season of live professional music close to home, the concerts are geared to classic folk and rock groups that performed from the 1960s on. This year’s variety of talent includes well-known celebrated performers, the ever-requested tribute bands, three select groups from Classic Albums Live (CAL) which will perform famous albums “word for word…cut for cut” and two special performances.

The non-profit partner for this show is the Cultural Council of Indian River County, the source for things to do in Vero Beach and Sebastian. Audiences are sure to love the first CAL concert on Friday, Dec. 27, The Beatles-Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. Held at the Emerson Center at 7 p.m. this is a perfect family concert during the height of the holiday season.
Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band is the eighth studio album by The Beatles. Released in 1967, it spent 27 weeks at number one on the UK Albums Chart and 15 weeks at number one in the United States. It was lauded by critics for its innovations in production, songwriting and graphic design, for bridging a cultural divide between popular music and high art, and for providing a musical representation of its generation and the contemporary counterculture. It won four Grammy Awards in 1968, including Album of the Year, the first rock LP to receive this honor.
CAL musicians go to great lengths to faithfully recreate every sound on the original album like a recital with the album being performed in its entirety followed by a greatest hits set of The Beatles. Every detail of the album will be performed with precision and grace delivering a performance that brings 50 years of Beatles’ excellence to thousands of people who grew up alongside the Sgt. Pepper masterpiece with the most recognized Beatles songs, including “A Day in the Life,” “With A Little Help From My Friends,” “Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds,” “When I’m Sixty Four,” and of course, the title track.
Following intermission, the band returns with a variety of other favorite Beatles songs rounding out the evening with magnificent music to songs we have sung for years.
