The Vero Beach Theatre Guild will hold auditions for its holiday production of “A Christmas Carol” at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, and 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 15. Callbacks are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15. Roles are open to performers ages 8 and older. Those auditioning should prepare a song from the show or a similar musical, no longer than 90 seconds, and be prepared for a dance call. Featuring music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, the musical retells Charles Dickens’ classic story of Ebenezer Scrooge and his journey toward redemption. Riverside Theatre’s Comedy Zone will feature headliner Patrick Garrity and feature act Shannon Hall with performances at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, and 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15. The Space Coast Symphony Orchestra will present “Landscapes & Legends” at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 16, at the Community Church of Vero Beach. We Care Foundation’s Empower and Educate Series will present dermatologist Dr. Patrick Ottuso discussing Skin Cancer Awareness and Prevention at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, at the Heritage Center.
