WABASSO — A 79-year-old Wabasso man who was shot several times and died over the weekend, was identified as T.H. Robertson, said Lt. Kevin Jaworski, a spokesperson for the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies asked anyone who may have seen or heard something to come forward.
“Detectives are actively investigating all leads and analyzing the evidence,” Jaworski said. Deputies were investigating the shooting as a homicide.
Gunfire erupted about 5:30 a.m. Saturday in the 8500 block of 64th Avenue, sheriff’s officials said. The shooting happened not far from Wabasso Foods, Head Start of Indian River and Allen Chapel AME Church.
Deputies responded and found Robertson with multiple gunshot wounds. Robertson was taken by ambulance to Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead, Jaworski said.
