INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Deputies arrested 19 people - and are searching for another - in connection with a months-long narcotics probe that led to deputies seizing nearly half a million counterfeit pills from "nuisance" homes. Undercover detectives also recovered cocaine, amphetamines and fentanyl, along with 10 guns and nearly $40,000 in cash. Sheriff Eric Flowers spoke about the drug bust, deemed "Operation Spring Cleaning," during a Wednesday news conference at the Indian River County Sheriff's Office. Deputies release ID of man fatally shot in Wabasso

WABASSO — A 79-year-old Wabasso man who was shot several times and died over the weekend, was identified as T.H. Robertson, said Lt. Kevin Jaworski, a spokesperson for the Indian River County Sheriff's Office. Deputies asked anyone who may have seen or heard something to come forward. "Detectives are actively investigating all leads and analyzing the evidence," Jaworski said. Deputies were investigating the shooting as a homicide. Gunfire erupted about 5:30 a.m. Saturday in the 8500 block of 64th Avenue, sheriff's officials said. Man walking on tracks struck, killed by freight train, deputies say

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A 63-year-old man was fatally struck by a freight train after walking along the railroad tracks Sunday morning at the 77th Street crossing, sheriff's officials said. The unidentified man's town of residence was not immediately available. "(Detectives) are working to determine whether it was intentional or not," said Lt. Kevin Jaworski, a spokesperson for the Indian River County Sheriff's Office. "The pedestrian is an adult male whose name will not be released until next of kin can be notified."
