Live from Vero Beach! presents Jefferson Starship at the Emerson Center 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15. Jefferson Starship was formed by members of the legendary Jefferson Airplane. The 6th Annual Vero Beach Sock Drive will hold its 2nd annual Vero Beach Sock Drive Sock Hop at 7 p.m. at the Walking Tree Brewery, 3209 Dodge Road, Vero Beach. The event includes a dance contest with Kazzen Walters of Dancing with Vero Stars. Music will be by the Hillbilly Hellcats. Admission is a new pair of socks which are being collected to give to the less fortunate. There will be a chance for you to win free beer for a year. The Vero Beach High School drama department presents “Into the Woods” this weekend. The Stephen Sondheim musical performs at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Feb. 16 and Feb. 17, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 18. Tickets are $8 to $12. The Thunder on the Beach Powwow runs this weekend at the Indian River County Fairgrounds. There will be native cultural dancing, music and drumming, as well as vendors and seminars. The public event also has camping for both primitive and RN sites. Hours are 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 17 and Feb. 18. Admission is $10 general and $5 children ages 6 to 12 years, with weekend passes costing $20 for general and $10 for children. Camping costs are: $45 per night for full hook-up RV sites and $30 per night for tent camping. Campers also need to purchase tickets to the Powwow. There’s a big Highwaymen Celebration Weekend happening in Fort Pierce this weekend. The A.E. Backus Museum will have free admission to its exhibition “Fast Forward: The Original Florida Highwaymen on the Way to Fame.” There will also be professional dealers selling works in the outdoor mural plaza from 11:15 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, and Saturday, Feb. 17; and from 1:15 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 18. There will be gallery talks at 11:15 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Feb. 16 and Feb. 17; and at 1:15 p.m. and 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 18. Also, the City of Fort Pierce Highwaymen Heritage Trail Art Show and Festival will run Saturday, Feb. 17. That event invites patrons to reserve a time to engage in the Highwaymen Heritage Trail Tour which begins 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m. The A.E.
