Linda Marie Pufal, 83, of Marked Tree, AK
August 5, 1940 – January 12, 2024
Linda Marie Pufal, 83, of Marked Tree, AK, passed away on January 12, 2024. Linda was born on August 5, 1940, to Hugh and Martha Hamilton.
She spent most of her youth growing up in Ramer, TN before moving to NJ after graduating from Ramer High School. It was in Irvington, NJ that she met her husband, Walter Pufal of 63 years.
They moved to Vero Beach from Forked River, NJ in 2017.
Linda and Walt owned a luncheonette/Pizzeria, The Corner Café, in Providence, NJ for many years. She became known, not only for her delicious pizza and homemade meals but also for her beloved sassy personality.
Not one to sit idle, in her early retirement Linda got her CDL license and drove a school bus. She also became a wonderfully creative flower arranger which wasn’t a surprise since she always had a garden and what a green thumb she had! There was nothing that she couldn’t grow.
After her father passed away at an early age, Linda being the oldest of her siblings, she and her husband sacrificed much in their early marriage to give everyone the best start they could in life. Her nephew Michael affectionately calls her Mommy Lin since he spent much time in her care as a child. She was the consummate Mom to everyone. Linda loved and cared for her family. It was most important to her.
Linda had a wonderful sense of humor and was great at telling jokes. She always kept the Tennessee spirit of her mom alive with funny southern sayings. She was a strong and courageous woman who was not afraid of any challenge.
Linda is preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Palma, her father, Hugh Hamilton, and her mother, Martha Hamilton. She is survived by husband Walter, son Jeffrey (Catherine), siblings, Martha (Mitch), Marilyn, Steven Gary (Debbie), MaryAnn (Michael) and grandson Jacob. She will be greatly missed.
Arrangements are entrusted to Strunk Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1623 North Central Avenue, Sebastian, Florida 32958.
