Village Spires condo features ‘almost panoramic’ views

Keith and Tana Wagner loved bringing their three young daughters to visit their grandmother in Vero Beach for Christmas and Spring Break over the years. It was a beloved family tradition.

“It was always so nice and quiet. The girls could run the streets and feel safe,” recalls Tana.

From their room at the Kimpton Hotel, they had always admired the Village Spires and finally decided to take a closer look while visiting over Christmas break 2020. After walking through an open house on the 10th floor that went under contract very quickly, Tana says they kept a lookout for additional listings in the Village Spires.

When 3554 Ocean Dr. #901N came on the market, the Wagners were so enamored of the unit, they made an offer over the phone and were down here within three days.

“There was nothing like the view,” says Tana, sharing that she’s realized that living in the Village Spires includes “so much more than the views. It has so much to offer.”

After parking in the covered space assigned to unit 901N, you access the lobby using a key fob. A lovely seating area in the common entry allows neighbors to sit and chat before heading upstairs via the elevators to one of the four units on each of the 13 floors in this building.

Inside the unit, a guest bedroom and bathroom are located near the front entry, nicely placed for privacy and access to the wraparound balcony. The bathroom is a convenient powder room for dinner guests. Tana says that in most of the units, the guest bathroom is en suite, making it more intrusive to use as a powder room.

“This is a turnkey condo that was renovated in 2019,” says Realtor Mary Frances Driscoll, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Realty, noting the designer lighting, stainless appliances, quartz countertops and wood flooring throughout.

To the right, a short hallway opens into the living room, kitchen and dining room, where the views from floor-to-ceiling impact glass sliders and a wraparound balcony steal the show.

Natural light fills the open space, and you can enjoy sunrise and sunset views town and ocean views and a glimpse of the river without moving from your chair.

“It’s almost panoramic all the way around,” says Tana.

That’s not all you can see from the balcony, Tana adds. “We can see the 4th of July fireworks all the way to Melbourne, Fort Pierce and Vero Beach. We watch rocket launches from Kennedy Space Center, the Christmas parade, all kinds of [foot] races down Ocean Drive, the Air Show, the sea turtle trackers, and the Race to the Wreck.”

The open floorplan provides multiple seating options explains Tana. For example, you can use the kitchen bar seating as a workspace while someone is in the living room reading or watching television.

And there’s plenty of room for dinner parties, she continues. “We open the doors and lay out the food on both island countertops.”

The primary suite is just off the living room, with sunset access to the wraparound balcony.

The spacious bedroom has a walk-in closet and a full bath with a shower. Electric blinds on the sliders are convenient, with blackout blinds in the primary suite.

There is a laundry closet in the unit. However, Tana takes advantage of the laundry room on each building floor, where you also place your recycling and dispose of trash via a chute.

“The property management here is fantastic. The staff has worked here for a long time,” says Tana, noting she has found the management team and board to be proactive instead of reactive. The lobby is scheduled to be updated, and the balconies are in the final stages of being fortified.

“The building is extremely well-managed and cost-effective,” adds Driscoll, sharing that the HOA dues are low due in part to the income made from the cell towers atop the building.

Tana says they love having the clubhouse and oceanside pool. You can choose to be as engaged with your neighbors as you wish by participating in the gatherings at the clubhouse or water aerobics. Access to the beach is via a locked and video-monitored staircase, so there’s an added sense of security.

“We love the walkability of living here,” adds Tana, who says they walk the beach to restaurants, shopping and the farmers market.

From the community amenities to the location and water aerobics in the oceanside pool to their amazing neighbors, the Wagners have enjoyed living on the beach. However, with three married daughters and Keith still working, they realize they need more space.

The Village Spires is a guard-gated, oceanfront condominium community with two 13-story towers originally containing 52 units each (some have been joined into double units). You can have a dog up to 20 pounds. Amenities include a laundry room on each floor with a garbage chute and daily recycling pickup, a personal storage closet, a heated pool, a clubhouse, grills, assigned parking spaces, grounds maintenance, key fob lobby access, full-time property management and keyed beach access with cameras.

The community is ideally located in Central Beach, within walking distance of the all the shopping, dining cultural and recreational opportunities that have made Vero Beach a renowned vacation spot known worldwide.
