The Source Participates in Vero Beach Air Show

The first weekend in May didn’t seem like work at all, when the culinary staff of The Source proudly came out in full force to operate their Dignity Food Truck at the Vero Beach Air Show. Being ready to serve up their delicious food during three separate operations of the weekend, ended up an opportunity like none other for the combined team of Source members and staff.

While all the planes and excitement of the crowd rang loudly in their ears, they cooked away serving performers and staff of the show; approximately 150 each on Saturday and Sunday of the weekend, including the renowned Blue Angels. The highlight of the menu was the Shrimp Pineapple Bowl, generously drizzled with the original, award-winning Mo Sauce, which was also sold during the event.

According to Jonathan Orozco, Development Director for The Source, “This opportunity provided an invaluable experience for The Source’s culinary students who were able to interact with their guests and feel valued for the great job they performed.  This embodied our core mission of providing dignified opportunities for our members, and this event surely met that goal.”

Saturday evening, some hundreds from the community visited the Air Show Food Fest held at Riverside Park. The Dignity Bus returned for that event as well selling items from their menu, and again, their newly bottled Mo Sauce they have received produced for sale. As always, 100% of the profits from this event are dedicated to our ongoing efforts to end homelessness, demonstrating how community engagement and support can make a significant impact.
