Gaston “Gus” Real DuBois, 93, Sebastian
July 9, 1928 – March 27, 2022
Mr. Gaston “Gus” Real DuBois, 93, of Sebastian, Florida died Sunday, March 27, 2022, at the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach, Florida.
Gus was born in New Britain, Connecticut and moved to Barefoot Bay in 1992 from Farmington, Connecticut before relocating to Sebastian in 2016.
After graduating from high school, Gus attended Seminary but before completing it he joined the US Navy during the Korean War. While in the navy, Gus learned barbering as a trade. After receiving his honorable discharge, he began a 35-year career as a barber in New Britain, Connecticut. When he retired to Florida, he began a new career path working for Publix, eventually retiring after 25 years of service.
Gus had been a member of St. Luke Catholic Church in Micco, Florida and St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Sebastian, Florida. In his spare time, he enjoyed Wii bowling and square dancing.
He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, including James, and his wife Lynn, DuBois of Burlington, Connecticut.
Gus was preceded in death by his beloved wife Francis L. Dubois and three brothers.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Childrens’ Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
Mass will be celebrated a St. Luke Catholic Church at a later date.

Lawrence C. Scheff, 89, Vero Beach
November 10, 1932 – March 08, 2022
Lawrence C Scheff went to be with his heavenly Father on March 8, 2022 at his home surrounded by family. Larry was born in Detroit, Michigan to Joseph and Josephine Scheff and was married to Jeanette Baran Scheff. Larry and Jan moved to Vero Beach in 2001.
Larry was a devoted man to his faith and family and a true follower of Christ. He was a Eucharistic Minister for twenty years at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Tecumseh, Michigan and at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach. Larry was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus.
He was proud to serve in the US Army as a Combat Veteran of the Korean War.
Larry was employed with Michigan Consolidated Gas Co (now DTE Energy) in Detroit, MI in the Corrosion Engineering Department. Then an additional 17 years with Citizens Gas Fuel Company of Adrian, MI. His expertise and management was in the construction of cross country pipelines, maintenance and corrosion control of the lines, leakage investigation and safety training within the natural gas industry.
He was preceded in death by his parents and beloved granddaughter, Samantha. Larry is survived by his wife, Jeanette; his three sons, Timothy, Thomas and Troy (Marlo); daughter, Teri (Lawrence); grandchildren David Scheff and 3 step-grandchildren, Logan, Ty and Jonathan. He is also survived by his loving nieces and nephews.
Interment and Military Honors will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI
The Scheff Family would like to thank the VA Caregivers and Hospice House for their tender, loving care of our loved one in his final moments and the respect and support they provided us.

Hugh G. Oldach, Sr., 94, Vero Beach
April 26, 1927 – March 16, 2022
Hugh G Oldach, Sr passed away peacefully on March 16, 2022 at Indian River Acts Retirement Community in Vero Beach, Florida at the age of 94.
Hugh was a graduate of Germantown, PA High School and Lehigh University. He was an avid sailor and Phillies fan and will be remembered for his kind heart and generous spirit. He was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church of Germantown, PA where he served as a Deacon and sang for many years in the choir.
Hugh is survived by his wife of 23 years, Fran; his 5 sons and daughters, 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
