Deputies search for 2 suspected of using fake money to buy lottery tickets

SEBASTIAN — Deputies are searching for two people they believe used counterfeit bills to purchase lottery tickets last week at a gas station.

Indian River County deputies released surveillance photos of the two suspects and asked for the public’s help in identifying the individuals. The incident occurred about 6:30 a.m. last Tuesday at a Citgo gas station in the 9000 block of County Road 512, Sebastian.

Deputies said both suspects used fake $20 bills to buy the tickets.

Anyone with information on the identities of the individuals should contact Treasure Coast Crime Stoppers at 1-800-273-TIPS or tcwatch.org. Callers can remain anonymous and possibly be eligible for a cash reward.
