INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A motorist who deputies said crashed into an electrical box – cutting power to a nearby traffic signal – before sticking his left leg out the driver’s window during a police chase, was jailed Friday.
Indian River County deputies on Friday released dashboard camera footage of the chase involving suspect Warren Tabari Bradshaw. The two-minute video shows deputies try to disable Bradshaw’s black Dodge Charger before he continues to drive off.
Deputies arrested Bradshaw, of Miami, on a variety of charges including felony fleeing and eluding, possession of a controlled substance, reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident with property damage. Bradshaw was held Saturday at the Indian River County Jail on $16,000 bond.
The incident unfolded early Friday morning when Vero Beach Police officers were notified of a Dodge Charger driver who was traveling recklessly and running several red lights. Police followed the vehicle to 53rd Street and Indian River Boulevard.
The driver, identified as Bradshaw, struck an electrical box, knocking out power to the intersection, deputies said. The power has since been restored.
Deputies said Bradshaw made a U-turn and headed south on Indian River Boulevard.
Deputies tried to disable the Dodge twice by ramming the back of the vehicle. When the first attempt was unsuccessful, Bradshaw continued driving and appeared to raise one of his hands out of the driver’s window.
A few moments later, Bradshaw was seen sticking his left leg out of the window, the video showed. Deputies disabled the Dodge and arrested Bradshaw.
Details on Bradshaw’s arraignment were not immediately available.
