Coronavirus in IRC – 29 new cases Tues, 1 new death

Indian River County added 29 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday, along with one new death, according to the Florida Department of Health. This raises the total amount of county cases to 5,606, while the death toll increased to 148.

Health officials said 75 out of the 148 Indian River County deaths were at long-term care facilities.

There have been 469 COVID-19 hospitalizations in Indian River County, health officials said. The number of hospitalizations and county cases are both cumulative.

There were 16 people still hospitalized as of Tuesday, according to the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration.

For the Indian River County cases among residents, 3,654 were white, 569 were black, 449 were listed as “other” and 880 were listed as “unknown.”

Statewide, the number of virus cases increased to 1,143,794. The number of deaths among residents and non-residents increased to 20,365.

Indian River County added 48 new COVID-19 cases Monday, according to the Florida Department of Health. This raises the total amount of county cases to 5,577, while the death toll remained at 147.

Health officials said 74 out of the 147 Indian River County deaths were at long-term care facilities.
