VERO BEACH — Three well-known beachside eateries have reopened after briefly closing their doors after one positive coronavirus case was reported at each business.
Bobby’s Restaurant & Lounge, which closed June 28 after a bartender tested positive for COVID-19, reopened July 12, staff members said. The restaurant, located at the Reef Ocean Resort, is known for American comfort food and drinks.
It was unclear if other employees were also tested for coronavirus.
The Ocean Grill, which closed July 16 after an employee tested positive for the infection, reopened Monday evening for dining room service and take out, staff officials said. In a Facebook post, The Ocean Grill representatives said the infected worker is doing well, but remains in self-quarantine for 14 days.
All other employees were tested and their results came back negative, staff officials said. The Ocean Grill is known for its seafood entrees.
“Thank you so much for your patience and support while we re-calibrate with safe health measures,” The Ocean Grill said in the post. “The Ocean Grill has been completely dedicated to your safety and ours throughout this entire process.”
Sanitization and disinfecting is conducted every Monday at the eatery.
Waldo’s Restaurant, which also closed July 16 after a kitchen staff worker tested positive for COVID-19, reopened Tuesday morning. The worker who tested positive remains in self-quarantine, General Manager Lee Olsen said.
All other employees were tested, and their results came back negative, Olsen said. Waldo’s is known for its seafood, entertainment and a gazing view of the ocean.
All three eateries are located along Ocean Drive. Capt. Hiram’s in Sebastian, which had closed after two workers tested positive for COVID-19, partially reopened July 13.
Employees at the eateries are required to wear masks. Capt. Hiram’s is also requiring guests to wear masks, but said the masks can be removed at the tables.
