VERO BEACH — Police on Wednesday will return to the scene of a crash that left a 78-year-old man with critical injuries, officials said.

The man was struck by a vehicle about 7 p.m. Monday near Royal Palm Boulevard, Vero Beach police spokesman Master Officer Darrell Rivers said. Rivers said the man was taken by ambulance to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute in Fort Pierce with critical injuries.
