Law enforcement, community come together for National Night Out Oct. 4

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Historic Dodgertown is pleased to participate in the 17th Annual National Night Out at Humiston Beach Park in Vero Beach, with the Vero Beach Police Department, Indian River County Sheriff’s Department and other valued law enforcement and public safety agencies.

The event will take place Oct. 4 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Humiston Beach Park, 3000 Ocean Dr., Vero Beach.

This is a family event for the community to meet and greet the people who make up local law enforcement, fire departments, and EMS agencies.

Free food will be provided, WGYL DJ will be playing music, and kids activities will be available. Police cars, police boats, fire trucks, and SWAT equipment will be on display. There will be demonstrations by the K9 and motor units, and a bike safety check.

The event is sponsored by the local Target and Publix.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, better places to live.
