United Way seeks volunteers for ‘Day of Caring’ Oct. 8

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — United Way of Indian River County is hosting its Day of Caring Oct. 8 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The Day of Caring is an opportunity for people all over the county to come together and make a difference in local non-profits. Non-profit organizations often do not have the funds, people or time to keep up with all the good work they do, this is a chance for the community to step in and help.

Free breakfast will be served from 8 to 8:45 a.m., with projects kicking off at 9 a.m. Projects will wrap up by 12 p.m.

All volunteers are welcome and will receive a free t-shirt in addition to complimentary breakfast. There are plenty of opportunities for individuals to serve, or groups of families and friends to spend time together and give back to the community.

Projects include but are not limited to painting, cleaning, planting, raking, scrubbing, mowing, mulching, building, washing, and sorting.

Please register on the new, easy to use website: www.UnitedWayIRC.org/dayofcaring.
