John Thomas Springer, 51, of Vero Beach, passed away of natural causes at his home in Pompano Beach, Fla., on Aug. 8, 2016.
He is survived by his mother Jacqueline Purcell Springer of Vero Beach; his wife of 17 years Tanya Majeska Springer of Pompano Beach, Fla.; his son Thomas Patrick (12); daughter Amanda Beth (10); sister Lisa Dawn Springer of Tallahassee; brother Thomas Bradley Springer (Julie) of Vero Beach; neices Mallorie, Chandler and Mackenzie Springer; nephews Alex and Nicholas Millones; and his beloved dog Lilly.
He was preceded in death by his father Dr. J. Thomas Springer.
Springer was born May 30, 1965, in Indianapolis, Ind., to parents Jackie and Dr. Tom Springer.
He joined his older sister Lisa and they eventually welcomed a younger brother Bradley. He was gregarious as a youth and as an adult. He was a problem solver, creative thinker and knew a little bit about everything. If anyone had a problem, Springer was the go-to guy.
As a young person he spent many hours in his boat fishing and also hunting with his friends. He graduated from Vero Beach High school in 1983 and went on to attend Mercer University in Macon, Ga., and Belmont Abby in Belmont, N.C.
In 1996, Springer joined Moving Water Industries which manufactures hydraulic pumps. He was a visionary who wore multiple hats and once he took the reins of the rental division in 1997, John helped MWI grow dramatically and flourish over the next 20 years.
His personal time included traveling with his family, participating in Indian Princess campouts with daughter Amanda, fishing with son Tommy and escaping to River Ranch with the family for four wheeling and enjoying nature.
Whatever combination of life events and characteristics combined to form John Springer, they will never again be replicated for he was truly one of a kind. He allowed each new chapter of life to mold him into a compassionate, adventurous and selfless individual who could endear a perfect stranger, human or animal. He was a kind and gentle person, a loyal and devoted friend, and will be remembered for many reasons, particularly his sparkling blue eyes, big smile, great bear hugs, and very tall tales. He loved his family and friends.
