Vero Beach High grad achieves ‘Youth of Year’ titles

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — At its July 5 meeting, the Indian River County Commission presented a proclamation to 2016 Vero Beach High School graduate Raliyah Dawson, recognizing her achievement as 2016 Boys and Girls Club Youth of the Year winner for Indian River County, the State of Florida and the Southeast Region of the U.S.A.

Dawson will travel to Washington D.C. In September to compete for the 2016 National Youth oft he Year title.

She has been a member of the Vero Beach Boys and Girls Club since 2014, during which time she has shown herself to be outstanding in the areas of club, family and community service, and has displayed strong moral character, life goals, poise and speaking abilities, as an exemplary ambassador for Boys and Girls Club youth and a strong voice for all of the nation’s young people.
