Gay Maxwell Proctor, 82, Vero Beach

Gay Maxwell Proctor, 82, of Vero Beach, passed away on Jan. 19, 2016 at the Indian River Medical Center.

She is survived by her sons Don (Linda) Proctor of Vero Beach and Ennis (Judith) Proctor, Jr. of Clinton, Miss.; daughters Marybelle (Robert) Proctor Menzel of Littleton, Colo. and Irene (James) Proctor Summers of Sebring; nine grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and a niece Judy Power of Annapolis, Md.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ennis Proctor.

She was born in Little Rock, Ark., and moved to Vero Beach 43 years ago from Proctor Construction since its beginning in 1976.

Proctor is deeply loved by many in the community who she mentored and helped in overcoming personal difficulty. She enjoyed playing Bridge with her friends and was a lover of the outdoors and the animals that lived in it.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2016 at the Strunk Funeral Home in Vero Beach with a Life Celebration Service beginning at 7 p.m.

Arrangements are under the direction of Strunk Funeral Home and Crematory, Vero Beach.
